My Hands Are Tied

Have you ever heard the expression, ‘My hands are tied’? Usually it’s in relation to a problem or circumstance that happens and, due to the position you are in, there is no way to change that circumstance. I experienced this the other night. My son was struggling with something that I had no way of helping him with. All I wanted to do was to take away what he was going through but I couldn’t, and it felt like ‘my hands were tied’. I felt like there was literally nothing I could do, and anything I tried would just be futile. It was really tough and probably one of the hardest moments as a dad.

As I thought about it more, I realised my hands might have been tied due to what was going on, but my heart was not. And out of my mouth came what was in my heart. I cried out to God with everything I had, with all that was in me. This is all I felt I could do.

I want to encourage you today that if you find yourself in a position where you feel like your hands are tied, remember that your heart is never tied and out of your mouth will flow what is in your heart. Cry out to God, He is listening. Sometimes that is all we can do.

Every blessing and peace to you!
