Back on the Road Again

“Back on the road again... On the road again, just can't wait to get on the road again...”

Do you remember these lyrics by Willi Nelson? You might remember the song from the movie Shrek, when Shrek and the Donkey are about to embark on a journey together.

I wonder if this song says something about where you find yourself in your faith right now? You can’t wait to get on the road again and start meeting people, sharing your faith and being inspired by what you see God doing. Maybe this doesn’t depict your faith. Maybe you don’t even want to be on the road; maybe you would rather park your faith and let everyone else go by? Or maybe you feel like you’re on the road but you have a flat tire and you are going slowly, barely hanging in there and not sure if you will make it.

Whatever you feel, I want to encourage you with Hebrews 12:1–2:
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfector of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

“On the road again, just can't wait to get on the road again...”

I’m praying for you today!

Blessings and peace,

Ps Neil Milton

(PS. Don't forget that this Sunday at 10am at Liberty we celebrate the end of the camp with the whole church both those who went to camp and those who have been unable to make it. See you then!)
