There is power in praying to our God who listens
One thing that is challenging when we pray is when we wonder whether God will answer our prayers. When he doesn’t we get angry, frustrated and some people I know of have actually left their faith and the church because of it.
I believe that God is the God of ‘our last minute’ and He answers prayer at just the right time, in just the right way, because God is for us and not against us. The thing we have to understand is that following Jesus means trusting that God knows best every time. He can see our plan all the way to the end of our eternity but we can only see but a glimpse. This can be frustrating sometimes. However over the last few years I have discovered that the best thing we can do as we pray is to pray with the understanding that God knows best. We have faith and believe but we also have the same response as Jesus did in the garden of Gethsemane when he was struggling with his calling to die for us; “Let your will be done Father, not mine”.
Friends, I recognise pain when I see it, and I see that some of you are in pain because you feel God is not answering your prayers, it feels like your prayers are hitting a ceiling. I want to encourage you that God always listens and will always act in love and it is in this time that God ushers the church into its calling to care for one another on this journey of life through the pain, sorrow and brokenness of what it is to live on earth.
I love you very much and I sit with you in that hurt and brokenness. I also pray for a breakthrough for you.
Feel free to contact me and we can pray together. It would be an honour to be part of this in your lives.
Blessings and peace,
Ps Neil Milton
