One of our more recent global outreaches has been to the small nation of Haiti, located in the Caribbean. Rod Meadth stayed there for seven months in 2006, working for Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF). He carried out aircraft maintenance duties, and was also involved with an orphanage called Maison de Lumiere (The Lighthouse). Rod then accepted a teaching position at Quisqueya Christian School, returning in October 2006 for eight months.
During this time Rod met a wonderful American girl Brittany Bohlinger from Los Angeles California. Brittany was working in the orphanage and pre-school. Rod and Brittany were engaged in 2007 and were married in California in February 2008. They continue to serve God in Haiti in teaching, youth work and in the orphanage. You can contact Rod and Brittany at rjmeadth@yahoo.com.au for more information or visit their blog at http://web.mac.com/brittanyjbohlinger/Site/intro.html |
